Edson Campos
Winged Winds
Ink on paper, 2004, 16 1/2" x 12 3/4"
Donated by Mary Moran and Charles Sforza

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Edson Campos enjoyed sketching and painting from a very early age, and through self-instruction, he learned to work in various mediums including oil, charcoal, pencil, and airbrush.  Shortly after moving to the United States in 1978, Campos established himself as an artist and quickly began to exhibit his photorealistic paintings and drawings in major cities throughout the country.  In 2003, The Orlando Modern Art Collection honored him with the title of “Artist of the Year.”  Believing that “beauty is essential to the well-being of the soul,” Campos is known for his sensual representations of the female form, which has led to his works being published in popular magazines, such as The Artist’s Magazine.  Campos was also permitted by the Walt Disney Fine Art Program to create work based on and depicting the Disney princesses.
