Sarah Yuster is a painter known for her urban landscapes and portraits. She earned her fine arts degree at the School of Visual Arts. Her work is in the collection of the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, the National Air & Space Museum, Harvard University, Yale University, the Bangkok Royal Family Compound, and the New York Armory Track. She has been commissioned by the Wall Street Journal, the New York State Legislature, City University of New York, and the NYC Department of Education. Her series Biophiles: A New Generation were exhibited at the Staten Island Museum’s exhibition Vulnerable Landscapes in 2023. Sheco-curated and had work in Arc of Twenty Years, a multimedia exhibition about the emotional impact and socio-political changes after the 9/11 attacks at the Noble Maritime Museum in 2021. Native Soil, the artist’s first major retrospective, was installed at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art for six months in 2018. Her work has also been exhibited at the Museum of American Art, the National Academy of Design, Biggs Museum of American Art, and many New York City galleries. It also hangs in institutions and corporate headquarters throughout the metropolitan area, as well as in the UK, Europe, Japan, and Thailand. sarahyuster.com
